Cardiff White Water Slalom Canoe Course
Spencer Rigging Ltd was contracted by Dean and Dyball Engineers of Swansea, to manufacture and install the White Water Canoe course Slalom pole control gates for the Cardiff White Water facility.
This consisted of producing the minimum mast collars for the perimeter wires as well as reducing the control gate return puller cars and stretcher pole carrier. The control gate system is the first of this kind in Europe and was designed in conjunction with the help of John Macleod canoe manager for the 2012 London Olympics.
Mark Delaney, C1 Coach Olympic Podium Programme commented - “It’s an absolutely fantastic facility. It just goes to show, what can happen when you get some enthusiastic individuals with a dream and the drive to make this happen in such a short space of time. Cardiff has set a new standard for a white water facilities in the UK.'
