Tie Rods
Modern developments in construction technology have focused on the production of light sturdy structures.
Rods are aesthetically pleasing to the eye and remind us of what can be achieved with the intelligent use of rods working together in tension. Be it a glazed curtain wall, a tensioned fabric roof, a simple yet elegant suspension bridge, or a cable net or grid structure, all can depend on tie rods as the primary load carrying elements. The results are structures of unique depth and openness, with large spans made possible by balancing the need for reduced self weight, with the application of minimalist and efficient high tensile rod tendons.
The Spencer Rigging Tie Rod system is made from high tensile 316 stainless steel and other high grade materials resulting in extra strength and comes with design features such as the tapered locking nut which hides bar threads thus providing a clean appearance.
Nitronic 50
This high-strength low-stretch, corrosion-resistant rod is the industry standard, developed originally by Navtec using a cold drawn process. Nitronic 50 rod can be found throughout the yachting industry and is also found in many architectural projects.
Nitronic 50 rods can be manufactured in any length, giving a continuous rod system. With the cold heading design the rod is not only striking in performance but incredibly strong.
